Rooted in Nature. Committed to Care.

Sustainability, Not as a Trend - But a Way of Life

At Klinci Village Resort, we believe that caring for our guests begins with caring for the land. That’s why we are proud holders of the Green Key Certificate - the leading international standard for environmental responsibility in the hospitality industry.

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting the natural beauty of Luštica, preserving local traditions, and reducing our ecological footprint. From energy-efficient practices and water conservation to thoughtful sourcing and waste reduction, every detail of daily life at Klinci is guided by quiet sustainability.

But for us, it’s not about ticking boxes. It’s about living with intention - growing herbs in our garden, distilling essential oils by hand, producing our own olive oil, and sharing with guests what nature offers, season by season. Our suites are restored rather than built new, our materials are natural and local, and our kitchen honors the ingredients just as they are.

For example, at Klinci we separate waste into several categories: plastic, glass, cardboard, and green waste. PET plastic and cardboard are collected by the Tivat Municipality and sent to a recycling plant in Podgorica. Glass is crushed on-site and reused for resurfacing floors and walls - you can see this in action near our Guvno, just below the parking area. Green waste is collected and composted in our garden, then used as natural fertilizer in our kitchen garden.

Guests are invited to take part in this process by separating their waste and using the designated containers located in the parking area.

By staying with us, you become part of this story - supporting tourism that is gentle, meaningful, and deeply rooted in place.

What is Green Key?

Green Key is a leading international certification for sustainable tourism. Awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), it recognizes tourism establishments that meet strict environmental and sustainability criteria.

To receive and maintain the Green Key, we must demonstrate:

Responsible water and energy use
Waste reduction and recycling
Use of environmentally friendly products
Sustainable food sourcing and local partnerships
Environmental education for guests and staff
Ongoing commitment to improving sustainable practices

The Green Key is independently audited and internationally respected.

By choosing Klinci Village Resort, our guests contribute to protecting the planet while enjoying meaningful experiences.

Klinci Green Key Action Plan 2025/2026

Our ongoing commitment to sustainability continues to guide every decision we make at Klinci Village Resort. In 2025 and 2026, we are deepening our environmental efforts through practical improvements designed to reduce our impact and enhance our connection with the land.

Key actions for the upcoming year include:

1.
Reducing water usage in agriculture by introducing additional smart irrigation systems in our olive groves and kitchen garden, helping us conserve resources while nurturing what we grow.
2.
Minimizing printed materials such as tourist maps and information flyers by transitioning to digital formats, available to guests through QR codes and digital platforms.
3.
“Smart renovation” of accommodation units, beginning with the conversion of two apartments into rooms - removing kitchenettes and larger appliances to lower water and energy consumption. This year, we plan to extend this initiative by phasing out kitchenettes from three more apartments.

These steps reflect our belief that sustainability is not a one-time achievement, but a thoughtful, ongoing process—one that grows with care, just like everything else at Klinci.

Because true hospitality is in caring.
